Marie has more than 14 years in the Entrepreneurial and Healthcare field as senior management, including 7+ years of CEO experience between 3 different Health and wellness companies in which she founded two of them. She has her Doctorate in Nursing Practice and an MBA in Data Analytics also completing her Family Nurse Practitioner License in May 2024. She is currently running a consulting firm focusing on bringing Wellness and Medical services into many different settings including hotels, gyms, and existing businesses. Prior to that, Marie received extensive clinical experience in areas such as ICU, ED, and Healthcare Administration.
Marie received her Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN) which entered her into the Healthcare Profession. She immediately found her passion in the Business of Healthcare which made her pursue her Masters in the Science of Nursing (MSN) and Masters in Business Administration (MBA). She longed for more than Hospital Administration therefore completed her Doctorate in Nursing Practice (DNP) through an extensive 3-year program at Sacred Heart University. This catapulted her into a Health, Wellness, and Medical Entrepreneur with the advantage of an innovative mindset, research-based studies, analytical thinking, and international connections.
In 2016, Marie opened her first company called Nordic Edge located in Westchester County, NY and soon expanded to 3 locations within a year and a half. Along with Venture Capitalists and partnering with a publicly-traded company, Nordic Edge expanded to 13 locations throughout the US within a 2-year timeframe. Marie sold the business in 2018 to a VC group but stayed on as CEO until Jan 2020. See press release here.
In April 2020, Marie opened her next business with a partner called ProsperIV in Westchester NY that provided IV vitamin drips within a spa-like setting. With 3 locations to date, Marie created this start-up and sold her shares within a year to her partner.
From March 2021 until September 2022, Marie served as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Exhale Spa (formerly owned by the Hilton Hotels) in which she was responsible for a staff of 600+ throughout 14 locations. She grew the company from 12 locations to 14, curated all new service offerings that increased menu offerings by 50%, led the design and renovation team, branding, and messaging, and was heavily involved in the relationship development with our hotel partners.
After an intensive year and half, Marie has now focused her energy on obtaining her Post-Masters Certificate FNP for the next 12 months. In addition, she opened her consulting company, OConnor Consultant, and currently doing projects for spas, hotels, and real estate developers.
